Dermot live in Boyle, Co Roscommon. He was born in Tramore, Co. Waterford and at four years of age his family moved to Ballinrobe Co. Mayo where he spent most of his youthful years. It was here he developed a great interest in fishing, shooting and the outdoor life. Fly-fishing has been a lifelong passion and he have captained both the Connacht and the Irish International fly-fishing teams.
His appreciation of nature is reflected in many of his works which also include still life , landscape and a fascinating series of abstract works.
A self-taught artist he has enjoyed great success in recent years and has exhibited work in Wexford, Tullamore, Rosses Point, Clonbur, Boyle while many of his paintings have made it round the world . Pieces of his work have gone to America, Turkey, Spain, Italy, New York and Australia.
